- This is a good site if you are a member of AOPA. It has
articles and lots of information about aviation. There is
an on-line IFR flight planner that is worth a try even if
it is just to compare your flight plan against the computer's.
This site is a "department store" of aviation information.
- AirNav
- This site contains much of the same information that is
published in the AFD, navaid data, and intersection data.
Up to date AVGAS information is also kept here.

- National Weather Service's Aviation Digital Data Service
(ADDS) makes available to the aviation community text, digital

- This FAA-provided service provides direct access to weather
briefing and flight planning computers to prepare pilots

immediate on-line access to U.S. Federal Aviation Administration

Operators Flight Information Resource -
GOFIR
- Assists the professional flight crew obtain information
for the purpose of planning a domestic or international
flight. In addition, this site contains other useful web
links.

- Flight Route Calculator
- Flight Route Calculator can produce a map of the flight
route and returns a link to enroute weather information;
by specifying your airspeed, it will also calculate flight
times. The map will include airports that are close to the
route in fairly evenly spaced segments and can display an
elevation profile along your route.

Data Access - Reference & Overview
- This is a great resource for flight planning. You can
receive information concerning SIGMETs, AIRMETs, and TAFs
for the entire country. A VOR chart is published which can
be used for plotting SIGMET/AIRMET areas.

- Where is the nearest airport, given a street address and
city? .. What airports are nearby?; here's the website for
you. You can get maps, satellite images, and a list of other
services nearby.

- Finished flying your mission? The $100 Hamburger is a
hungry pilot's WEB, providing first hand reports on restaurants.

- Intellicast is a great site for general worldwide weather.
The Doppler radar images are amongst the best. If thunderstorms
are predicted take a look at their region radar images.

& Sunset times - US Naval Observatory
- You can obtain the times of sunrise, sunset, the beginning
and end of civil twilight by specifying a date and location.

Northern California - NWS
- This is one of the handiest Websites around for California
pilots. It contains links to almost everything you need
to prior to getting your Standard Briefing. You can find
links to METARs, TWEBs, winds aloft forecasts, SIGMET/AIRMET
information, PIREP information, along with all sorts of
maps and photographs. It is my one stop shopping place for
weather information prior to calling Oakland Flight Service
Station.
